SmackDown opens up with a Wyatt Family video Hyping The feud between The Wyatt Family with CM Punk & Daniel Bryan. The video is wicked awesome. Inside the arena CM Punks music plays and out come CM Punk.
The crowd is going crazy for The Straight Edge superstar CM Punk! Punk cuts a great promo as always. CM Punk says "The Wyatt's have a problem and that problem is The Best In The World"
CM Punk calls out The Wyatt Family but instead Curtis Axel comes out with a mic in hand.
Curtis Axel tells CM Punk he needs to shut his mouth! WHOA them are fighting words Curtis! Curtis goes on to say "He doesn't care about the Wyatt's they can wait in line" Curtis goes on and says "You and I have some unfinished business" "because of you Paul Heyman my mentor, my father figure is laid up in a hospital bed in Europe" ??? Why Europe? CM Punk points at himself like yup I put Heyman in the hospital. Curtis Axel keeps slowly walking to the ring and says "But I'm gonna make him proud" "I talked to Vickie Guerrero and she granted me a match against you and that match is right now" Curtis Axel drops the mic and takes off The Intercontinental Championship belt off as CM Punk takes off his shirt in the ring to do battle. Curtis Axel gets in the ring as the crowd roars a chant of "CM Punk" as the bell rings. Curtis Axel surprisingly gets the upper hand on Punk to start the match with a kick to the gut. Axel lays into Punk with kicks and punches into the corner. Curtis works over Punk until Punk bounces out of the corner and hits Axel with a elbow. CM Punk lights up Curtis Axel with a flurry of offense. CM Punk runs up to the top rope and nails Axel with a double ax handle smash to the noggin of Curtis. Punk keeps control of the match and delivers a nasty standing drop kick to the back of the head of Curtis Axel.
CM Punk keeps taking it to Curtis Axel until Curtis slams Punks head into the second turnbuckle. Axel tosses Punk outside the ring. As Curtis climbs out of the ring Punk trips Curtis on the apron and Curtis falls HARD WAY on the mat and down to the ground. Punk slams Curtis onto the guard rail gut first. That's gotta hurt! CM Punk yells out "IT"S CLOBBERING TIME" I love when Punk yells that out it makes me wanna run outside and yell it! Now we go to a break.
Back from break Curtis Axel has control of the match until CM Punk breaks free and puts Axel up in the GTS but Axel slides out of it and ducks out of the ring only to get nailed by a baseball slide by Punk. Punk goes outside after Axel and rolls Axel back into the ring but Axel rolls right back to the outside of the ring and grabs CM Punk up and RAMS Punk into the barricade. The ref starts to count and gets to 4 as Curtis rolls Punk into the ring. Curtis goes for the cover but Punk kicks out at 2. Curtis gets up and drops repeated elbows onto Punks chest. Curtis goes in for another cover but Punk kicks out at 2 again. Curtis Axel pick up CM Punk and delivers a viscous back breaker on Punk.
Axel goes up to the 2nd rope and drops a wicked elbow onto CM Punk. Could this be it? Can Curtis Axel upset and beat CM Punk? Curtis Axel goes for the pin 1, 2, and CM Punk kicks out again. Curtis is gonna have to do a lot more to beat "The Best In The World" Curtis looks at the ref with a nasty look like he wants to drop kick him in the face. Axel starts rubbing Punks face in the mat. Axel grabs Punks face and yells at him as he punches Punk in the gut. Punk staggers to his feet into the corner. Axel gets to his feet and goes towards Punk but as the crowd chants "CM Punk" Punk comes out the corner and kicks Axel in the knee and starts a flurry of CHOPS onto Curtis Axel. CM Punk whips Axel into the corner only for Axel to spin around and whip him into the corner. Curtis runs at Punk while he's in the corner but Punk gets his knees up to stop Curtis. Axel falls to the mat and Punk leaps up to the top rope. Punk misses the cross-body on Axel. Curtis Axel lands a THUNDEROUS clothesline on Punk. Curtis goes for the pin but Punk kicks out at 2 again. Curtis puts CM Punk in a cross-face. It looks like CM Punk may have to tap out to Curtis Axel!!!
CM Punk ends up moving around and stands up. Curtis Axel is gonna have to learn to lock the arm in once he has the cross-face locked if he's gonna use that move again. Punks up to his feet and hit Curtis with a back body drop. This match is awesome! Both men are slow to get up. Punk and Axel are back up and Punk gets the better of Axel with a flurry of offense. Punk is in total control now. Punk goes for the cover 1, 2, and Axel kicks out at 2. This match is still going on. Axel gets up and stumbles to the corner and CM Punk runs at Axel and nails the running knee into Axel's face. Punk follows it up with a clothesline and runs up to the top rope. Is it time for the "Macho Elbow Drop?" Punks up top and points up with both hands just like "Macho Man Randy Savage" but what's this? The Wyatt Family interrupt a great match. The lights go off! Punks in the middle of the ring as the lights come back on and Punk is looking around for the Wyatt Family but Axel clotheslines Punk from behind. It was just a distraction by Bray to help out Curtis but WHY? OH MY GOD Curtis Axel just hit the "Perfect Plex" On CM Punk!!!
1, 2, NO WAY CM Punk broke free. How in the world did he just do that? Curtis Axel is freaking out and starts punches Punk rabidly. Axel picks up and attempts a "Neck Breaker" but reverse it and tries for a backslide but can't get it. CM Punk spins himself and Axel around. CM Punk picks up Curtis Axel and hits a devastating GTS on Axel!
Axel goes down like a ton of bricks as the crowds roars in excitement. Punk falls on top of Curtis cover. 1, 2, 3 CM PUNK BEATS THE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMP CURTIS AXEL in the first match of the night. CM Punks music plays for a brief moment before We hear Bray Wyatt laughing for a moment before the lights turn off and Bray is on the titantron. Punk stands up as Bray blows out the lantern.
CM Punk looks on into the darkness as we go to break.
